摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method for regulating or controlling a fusion process in a three-phase current arc furnace with at least three individual electrodes, which are independent of one another and have an adjustable height. At least one electrode is allocated to each phase of the three-phase current supplying the arc furnace, and the temperature of the said arc furnace is monitored, especially in the areas which are likely to overheat, such as the walls near the electrodes. When the three-phase current arc furnace reaches a critical temperature in the area surrounding one of the electrodes, the power output of this electrode is reduced to the extent that the arc furnace is prevented from overheating and the power output of the other electrodes or a part of the other electrodes is increased to the extent that the overall power output of the electrodes is maximal at a predetermined voltage.</p>
