Direct-controlled hydraulic pressure limiting valve for hydraulic machinery

A direct-controlled hydraulic pressure limiting valve (10) has a closure (14) which dampens the oscillations in a hydraulic dampener (31 to 34) and piston-dampener (31). The piston-dampener (31) is protected against opening by closure (39) from which it is de-coupled. Peak pressure is reduced following a sharp increase in pressure, or when oil is in a highly viscous cold state which would open the valve.
