The shower mat has several frames stacked over each other and with a mesh supported by each frame. The water droplets are broken up by the upper mesh and the successive lower meshes, resulting in a fine spray reaching the shower tray, at a much reduced speed than for free falling droplets. The support frames stack over each other. The mesh sizes can be different, or if similar mesh sizes are used the meshes are offset to each other. The lowest frame is supported in the shower tray by support feet. The spacing of the mesh layers is much greater than the mesh size.
