An image forming method includes the steps of forming a latent image on the surface of an image carrier (1) that repels a coloring liquid (9), attaching an affinity agent (5), containing fine silica grains, that have affinity for the coloring liquid (9), onto the latent image with electrostatic force, and attaching the coloring liquid (9) onto the affinity agent (5) on the latent image, to visualize the latent image at high speed. An image forming apparatus employing the image forming method is also disclosed. The method efficiently transfers the visualized image having the affinity agent (5) to a recording medium (11), to provide a fixed image. <IMAGE> |
