Meta-Toluenediamine composition for storage and transport

摘要

This invention relates to meta-toluenediamine mixtures for storage and transportation in large containers which are characterised by having a reduced melting or freezing point because of the presence of 5 to 15% (preferably 7-10%) by weight of the toluenediamine of water. It relates also to a process for the preparation of such mixtures from meta-toluenediamine produced by the hydrogenation of dinitrotoluene which involves adding water to the anhydrous meta-toluenediamine obtained by fractional distillation of the raw hydrogenation product as well as to a method for effecting storage and transport of toluenediamine mixtures comprising the use of the above-mentioned mixtures.
