WAVELENGTH MULTIPLEX OPTICAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM ADOPTING REMOTE STIMULATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decreasing a level deviation of a plurality of channels multiplexed on a wavelength multiplex light in the wavelength multiplex transmission system where an amplification optical fiber amplifying the wavelength multiplexed light is stimulated remotely. SOLUTION: A wavelength multiplexed light outputted from a transmission station 10 is amplified by an EDF 41 and the amplified light is sent to a reception station 20. A stimulated light generated by a light source 45 provided to the reception station 20 is fed to the EDF 41. A control circuit 44 analyzes the wavelength characteristic of the wavelength multiplexed light amplified by the EDF 41 and adjusts a light emitting power of the light source 45 so as to decrease the deviation in the optical levels of a plurality of channels multiplexed on the wavelength multiplexed light.
