PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect the temp. of an image carrier with a simple structure, and to decrease the cost, by providing a temperature sensor for detecting the temp. of the image carrier in a layer thickness regulating member. SOLUTION: At the time of forming an image, a photoreceptive drum 1 is warmed up by the heat sources of a fixing unit, etc., and the temp. of a doctor blade 17 is raised by the heat of the drum 1 through carriers such as iron or ferrite powder in a developer. Thus, the temp. of the doctor blade 17 approaches that of the drum 1 and is detected by the temperature detecting sensor 19. Then, a control means 21 for controlling the level of a voltage applied by a voltage applying means 11, in accordance with the detected temp. is connected and the electric discharge amount of a charger 2 is controlled according to the temp. detected by the sensor 19. In other words, when the temp. of the drum 1 is high, the discharge amount is large and when the temp. of the drum 1 is low, the discharge amount is small, so that the surface potential of a photoreceptor is kept at a prescribed value. |
