PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a control value from becoming a remarkably improper value, so that good engine operation control can be performed, while utilizing a characteristic of a neural net. SOLUTION: A neural net inputting a plurality of engine operation parameters including a detection value of an air/fuel ratio sensor is used, cylinder-wise equivalent ratio HATAF is calculated (S1), a change amountΔA/F thereof is calculated (S2). In accordance with the cylinder-wise equivalent ratio change amountΔA/F, a basic fuel amount Ti is corrected, a fuel injection amount Tout is calculated (S4). A value of the engine operation parameter input to the neural net is limited within a range narrower than a range of parameter value which can be actually taken during operation of an engine.
