PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition useful for removal of makeup, comprising sufficiently and completely formulated two phases composed of a water phase and an oil phase, being rapidly separated after use, having no irritation, by including a specific alkyl glycoside as a demixing agent. SOLUTION: This composition contains an effective amount as a demixing agent of a quaternary nitrogen-containing ether-substituted alkoxylated alkyl glycoside, preferably of the formula (R1 is a 1-18C alkyl; Rw , Rx , Ry and Rz are each ethylene or propylene; (w), (x), (y) and (z) are each a mol substitution number of alkoxy; MS is defined by an average mol number of an alkoxy substituted group shown by the formula Rw-x as an average sum of (w), (x), (y) and (z) per mol of the glycoside and is about 1-200; R2 to R5 are each H, a quaternary nitrogen-containing group, etc.), to be concrete laurylmethylglucet-10-hydroxypropyldimonium chloride.
