PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce electrically conductive fine tin oxide powder excellent in transparency, dispersibility and electric conductivity by adding antimony trioxide to an acidic tin oxide sol, converting the resultant tin oxide-antimoney oxide composite colloidal dispersion into an alkaline composite aq. sol and carrying out drying, firing and pulverization. SOLUTION: Antimony trioxide is added to an acidic tin oxide sol by 2.0-20wt.% (expression in terms of Sb2 O3 ) of the amt. an SnO2 and the sol is held at 20-100 deg.C to prepare a tin oxide-antimony oxide composite colloidal dispersion. Ammonia or an org. base is added to the dispersion by 0.02-4.0wt.% and anions are removed by anion exchange to prepare an alkaline tin oxide- antimony oxide composite aq. sol. This sol is dried and fires at 400-800 deg.C and the resultant fired body is pulverized to obtain the objective electrically conductive fine tin oxide powder. |
