摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-resistant photocatalyst which is highly active photocatalytically and tightly adheres to the base of a catalytic coat by using organoalkoxysilane as a binder, in a photocatalyst bearing the catalytic coat on a base through sticking a photocatalytic particle to the surface of the base together with the binder. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst which decomposes an organic matter or an odor by emitting a light is formed by sticking a photocatalytic particle 5 to the surface of a base 1 together with a binder 6 and thereby causing a catalytic coat to be borne on the surface of the base 1. In this case, organoalkoxysilane is used as the binder 6. In addition, the ratio of the binder 6 in the catalytic coat is set within the range of 20-90wt.% and thus it is possible to obtain an adequate photocatalytic activity in the catalytic coat and also its adhesion to the base. Further, an absorbent can be contained into the catalytic coat borne on the surface of the base 1 and in this case, the ratio of the binder 6 in the catalytic coat is 20-80wt.%. Besides, in order to improve the adhesion of the catalytic coat, silica can be added to the binder 6.
