PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording liquid, having stable discharging performances without causing clogging and excellent in solubility in inks, water and light resistances by including a specific complex of a chelating dye therein. SOLUTION: This ink jet recording liquid comprises preferably 0.5-10wt.% complex of a cheating dye having one or more sulfonate groups and a >=10C ballast group such as C12 H25 , C17 H35 or NHCOC13 H27 such as a compound represented by the formula. The complex of the chelating dye can readily be obtained by reacting the chelating dye with a transition metallic ion according to a well-known complex-forming reactional method. |
