PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dense sintered body in a short sintering time by compressing a calcium phosphate ceramic powder under specified pressing force to obtain a compacted body, applying pulse voltage on the compacted body to heat the calcium phosphate ceramic material to specified temp. SOLUTION: A calcium phosphate ceramic powder 1 having 5 to 100μm average particle size is supplied in a molding die 30 the inner surface of which is coated with a carbon paper, and the vacuum chamber 25 is kept to about 10<-2> Torr vacuum degree. Then a pressurizing mechanism 24 is driven to compact the powder 1 in the molding die 30 under 5 to 30MPa pressure by using a pair of carbon pressing tools 32, 34 to form a compacted body 1'. Then pulse voltage is applied from a sintering power supply 22 to the compacted body 1' to heat at 900 to 1,100 deg.C for 5 to 15min. Then a cooling system 28 is operated to cool the compacted body 1' to room temp. to obtain a dense sintered body. As for the calcium phosphate ceramic material, hydroxyapatite and calcium tertiary phosphate can be used. |
