PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce and remove formed SO3 by bringing ammonia added waste combustion gas into contact with a catalyst carrying Ru. SOLUTION: A soln. A prepd. by dissolving water glass No.1 in water and a soln. B prepd. by dissolving aluminum sulfate, ferric chloride, calcium acetate, sodium chloride and concd. hydrochloric acid in water are fed in a certain ratio, a precipitate is formed to prepare a slurry and this slurry is charged into an autoclave. Tetrapropylammonium bromide is then added, hydrothermal synthesis is carried out and the resultant product is dried and fired to form a metallosilicate 1. An aq. soln. of ruthenium chloride is impregnated into the metallosilicate, carried as Ru, evaporated to dryness and fired to obtain a powdery catalyst 1. A binder is added to the catalyst, a slurry is prepd. by sufficient stirring and a monolithic cordierite substrate is dipped in the slurry and dried to obtain the objective honeycomb coated catalyst 1. When waste combustion gas is subjected to reduction with the catalyst, harmful SO3 is reduced and removed from the gas. |
