摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an environmentally excellent biodegradable polymer at a low cost by culturing a microorganism capable of producing the biodegradable polymer form an organic acid or lactic acid in a fermented solution derived from fermentation of sludge or its treated solution. SOLUTION: This environmentally excellent biodegradable polymer is obtained at a low cost by using a microorganism belonging to genus Bacillus, genus Alcaligenese, genus Azotobacter, genus Pseudomonas, genus Rhizobium, etc., capable of producing the biodegradable polymer comprising a polyhydroxylactic acid, a polyhydroxyvaleric acid or a copolymer containing them, etc., from an organic acid or lactic acid in a fermented solution obtained by fermenting sludge or in a specifically treated solution obtained by centrifuging the fermented solution and collecting the resultant supernatant.
