PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute thermal transfer recording of an excellent image even for a card of which a plane property is slightly impaired with a device of simple structure by a method wherein an image receiving surface of a thermal transfer recorded card is mat processed, and an image is thermally transfer recorded onto the mat processed image receiving surface. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer recording IC card is composed of a plurality of layers, a synthetic resin made sheet for IC card 10 is stuck to a second sheet for IC card 8 via an adhesion layer 9, and an image receiving layer for execution of thermal recording is provided on the second sheet for IC card 8. Since mat processing is applied onto a surface of the image receiving layer 7, numberless pieces of fine irregularity 11 are provided on the surface. Then, an IC chip 2 and an antenna 3 are provided on the sheet for IC card 10 between the sheet for IC card 10 and the second sheet for IC card 8, which have shape to be buried in the adhesion layer 9, and are secured with the adhesion layer 9. Thereby, an excellent image can be thermally transferee recorded with a simple structured apparatus.
