PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To average differences in discharge characteristic of nozzles, lessen streaks due to a density irregularity in a main scan direction and record high- quality images, by constituting so that the nozzles used for forming pixels in a plurality of different main scans are changed by random numbers. SOLUTION: When an ink is discharged to a medium to be recorded from a recording head having a plurality of nozzles to record the medium in accordance with the scan of the recording head, pixels are formed in a plurality of different main scans of the recording head. At this time, the nozzles which are to record the pixels are determined according to random numbers by a random number generation means. The random numbers are obtained from a distribution type dither arrangement prepared in an ink-jet apparatus. In the constitution, the nozzle used for forming one pixel of the image is changed by random numbers, so that differences in discharge characteristic of nozzles are averaged, streaks of a density irregularity in a main scan direction are lessened, and also streaks in a sub scan direction are reduced. |
