PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polishing oil which early develops high rust-preventive power and rust-preventive effect by using an evaporable rust preventive. SOLUTION: This oil contains an evaporable rust preventive such as soft crystalline N-cyclohexylcyclohexamine, 4-cyclohexyl-1-benzenamine. Therefore, when the oil is brought into contact with the work or a mechanical component, it forms a film which covers the metallic surface of the work or the component. After the adhesion to the surface, the evaporable rust preventive evaporates and quickly develops rust preventive effect. The oil component in the film and the evaporable rust preventive remaining not evaporated cover the metal surface to prolong the life of the oil, and the oil can be used without deterioration upon dew condensation. The oil can function even in a watery, humid and dewy place. The amount of the rust preventive is suitably 2-10wt.% because of easy mixability and practical cost. |
