PURPOSE:To obtain a fabric capable of manifesting excellent strike through properties in printing processing by treating a fabric made of polynoslc fibers with an epoxy compound. CONSTITUTION:This method for improving the strike through properties of a fabric made of polynosic fibers is to respectively and separately treat the fabric made of the polynosic fibers with a glycidyl ether of a higher alcohol and its derivative, preferably ethylene oxide lauryl alcohol glycidyl ether or dodecyl alcohol glycidyl ether as an alkylating agent or a water-soluble polyfunctional epoxy compound, preferably ethylene glycol dlglycidyl ether or sorbitol polyglycidyl ether as a cross-linking agent or with a solution containing mixed both in carrying out the alkylating and/or cross-linking treatments with the epoxy compounds. Thereby, the processed fabric of the polynosic fibers excellent in the strike through properties in printing processing is obtained. The printed fabric is excellent in touch feeling and color fastness. The method is especially suitable for a lawn woven fabric made of the polynosic fibers, especially a handkerchief, a scarf, etc., as a fabric. |
