摘要 PURPOSE: To increase a recording and reproducing capacity and to interchangeably reproducing optical intensity modulation information by subjecting first data words to required modulation, forming light intensity modulation marks by a mark length method and displacing the marks in a direction orthogonal with tracks according to second data words. CONSTITUTION: The first data words are modulated by encoders 2, 4, an EFM modulator 5, etc. An optical modulator 8 is controlled by the modulation signals of 14-bits, etc., by which the light source light intensity is modulated. On the other hand, an optical deflector 9 is similarly controlled according to the second digital words and optical intensity modulation light is deflected according to the second data words and the marks are recorded according to the first data words by a mark length method minimum >=2 marks on a master disk 10. The marks are displaced from the track central line in accordance with the second data, by which the recording and reproducing quantity is increased. The information corresponding to the light intensity modulation by the marks is reproduced with good interchangeability by a reproducing device of the conventional type.
