PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the controllability of a continuously variable transmission having infinity change gear ratio, which changes direction of transmitting torque for forward movement and backward movement. SOLUTION: This continuously variable transmission is formed by combining a continuously variable transmission and a reduction gear with an epicyclic gear mechanism. In this case, the device is provided with an oil pressure control means for controlling the oil pressure of a first oil chamber and a second oil chamber of a hydraulic cylinder 30 for changing torque transmitting force, and the oil pressure control means connects a second oil passage 52 to the first oil chamber and a first oil passage 51 to the second oil chamber through switching means 60, 70 when the traveling range is set at the forward movement range, and connects the first oil passage 51 to the first oil chamber and the second oil passage 52 to the second oil chamber through the switching means 60, 70 when the traveling range is set at the backward movement range, and on the other hand, the oil pressure control means has a control valve 40 for controlling a differential pressure between the first oil passage 51 and the second oil passage 52. |
