PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy duty pneumatic tire in which noise generated during running is reduced more than before while maintaining wet skid resistance. SOLUTION: In a heavy duty pneumatic tire provided with a tread 1 which includes multiple circumferential grooves 2 extending in circumferential direction and 1 and parts 3 divided by these circumferential grooves 2 and is provided with a groove fence part 4 extending in the direction that interferes the circumferential grooves 2 in these grooves, the group fence part 4 is provided in each circumferential groove 2 in a ground contact surface formed in tire running at a circumferential interval that the group fence part 4 is always contained substantially only at one position and at a phase difference in circumferential direction between the circumferential grooves, and the height of the group fence is 70% or higher and less than 100% of the circumferential groove depth. Also the circumferential groove 2 is provided with at least one deformed groove part 5 of which cross-sectional area is increased or decreased within the range of±40% by a ratio to the circumferential groove 2 and in which the amount of variation in its deformation in longitudinal direction is within 10% of a tire ground contact length between the group fence parts 4. |
