FIELD: thickening materials. SUBSTANCE: thickening material has graphite, synthetic ethylene-propylene rubber and toluene or kerosene, or benzine, or solar oil fraction as an organic solvent. Also, synthetic ethylene-propylene rubber has gel-fraction (rubber of limited swelling) at amount 5% of total rubber mass, not less. Thickening material has the following components, wt.-%: graphite 5-20; synthetic ethylene-propylene rubber with gel-fraction (rubber of limited swelling) at amount 5% of total rubber mass, not less, 1-10; toluene or kerosene, or benzine, or solar oil fraction 70-94. Material is used for the improved exploitation of threaded joints and detachable joints. EFFECT: decreased separating of material in threaded joint place. 2 cln
