The invention concerns a device for distributing and/or collecting water passing through an immersed filtering bed (1) consisting of at least one layer (2a, 2b, 2c) of a granular filtering material, said device being designed to be installed at the base of the filtering bed (1). The invention is characterised in that it comprises a plurality of distributing and/or collecting channels (3), a plurality of elements supporting said filtering bed (1) and covering each channel (3), and elements (5) projecting between the channels (3), the elements (5) being in contact with the filtering bed (1) and facilitating the water flow therein. Such a device is useful for equipping any type of filter but is particularly adapted for biological filters which include ventilation air ducts which can be supported by said transverse elements (5).
