The kettle has a hollow body (1) moulded from a plastic material such as polypropylene and the moulding includes a handle and spout. The bottom of the kettle (2) has an integral heating element consisting of a round section metal plate with a resistive track applied typically by serigraphy. The kettle body has an internal rim (5) with a watertight seal (3) which acts as a seating for the bottom of the kettle and locates it at a small angle to the horizontal. The thermostat (4) is attached to the kettle bottom at the higher end. |
