The method commences with application of a grid pattern to each colour layer, with each grid composed of g pixels with a particular colour level. The colour levels of the pixels in each grid square are regrouped to produce a superpixel, with an equivalent colour level. The regrouping proceeds over all of the grid, and the resulting superpixels form a superplane. The superplane is the processed by working downward to grid square and pixel level, with the colour levels of the pixels redefined as a result of the regrouping process.
