The cable tray has a metal conduit (2) for the high power cables (7) running along its length, and an open tray extending from the exterior of the conduit to accept low power cables. The tray can be used for initial placement of all cables during wiring. The conduit has a longitudinal opening (27) oriented toward the exterior and running the full length of the conduit. The walls of the conduit have clips to support the cables, and to allow a cover (6) to be clipped in place. Connectors (4) can be fitted at intervals along the length of the conduit.
