A device for automatically mounting an antiskid element, in particular a snow chain, on a vehicle wheel, has a chain that can be laid around the vehicle wheel. The two ends of the chain can be interconnected by a chain lock with a clamping element (3) that can be attached to one end of the chain and to the vehicle wheel and a connecting element (7) which is arranged at the other end of the chain and can be connected to the clamping element after the chain has been laid around the vehicle wheel. The clamping element and the connecting element are designed such that the chain lock assembly (8, 17) composed of the clamping element and of the connecting element of the chain laid on the vehicle wheel automatically engage and/or clamp each other when the tire is turned. |
