[Also in Division B8] An egg carton formed by plug assist vacuum drawing from a sheet of expanded polystyrene is provided with apertures (32), Fig. 1 (not shown), in a side wall of its lid. A forming tool 40 depresses areas of the side wall, thereby pushing up a ridge 36 around each area. The apertures are made subsequently through the depressed areas by a cutting tool.
