Apparatus for drying washed vehicles comprises two superposed contra-rotating radial fans 8 mounted in a framework 12 for movement on rollers 13, 15 along upper and lower guide rails 4, 5 mounted on one side wall 3 of a washing space or bay. The framework supports in cantilever fashion a horizontal, narrow air duct 1 having a slotted nozzle 2 on its underside arranged transversely of the longitudinal axis of the car. The duct is connected by flanges 11 to spiral dischargers 6 of the fans and is continuously tapered towards its free end. A waterspraying device with nozzles 22 may be incorporated in the duct.
