METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE INSULATOR AND PACKING MEMBER FOR USE IN SAME

A method of manufacturing a composite insulator having a core member, grip metal fixtures fixed to both ends of the core member, and a housing composed of a sheath section formed on an outer periphery of the core member and a shade section. The method comprises providing vulcanization and adhesion between the housing and the grip metal fixtures. Also, a caulking or packing material is used to prevent a housing forming material from flowing into seal portions. Accordingly, it is possible to improve a sealing performance of adhering interfaces between the grip metal fixtures and the housing.
