The axial fan (1) is fixed to the driven side housing of a fluid friction coupling (2) from which it is driven. The fan, viewed in the air flow direction, is arranged behind a radiator of a vehicle and sucks atmospheric air through the radiator or a radiator module, which can comprise several heat exchangers such as coolant/air coolers, charging air coolers, and condenser of an air conditioning plant. The fan has a nave (3,4), with one section (3) having a conical surface and the other (4) a torus-type arched surface. On the periphery of the conical surface nave section (3) several axial blades (5) are fitted, which in relation to the arched nave section and the nave face surface have a so-called projection (6). This projection is the axial distance of the blade entry edges (7) in relation to the nave face side.
