The process makes a laminated sheet simulating tiles and their joints, combining a core layer (8) and a decorative covering layer (9). In the new method, individual sections simulating tiles are pressed from a paper treated with synthetic resin (5). Individual tile cut-out sections (4) are placed in a tile-like array, spaced correctly to represent the tile joints (7). Resin-impregnated paper layers are then overlaid and hot pressed into the laminated sheet, with the tiles forming the decorative, covering layer. Also claimed is a laminated sheet with a tile simulation on its visible surface, constructed as described. |
