Process for the exploitation of gypsum contaminated with organic impurities and its use

A process for material recovery from organic material-contaminated gypsum, especially gypsum board waste, mineral-bonded chipboard waste and/or power station waste gypsum, optionally mixed with other carbon- and/or gypsum-containing waste, involves comminuting the waste to not >2 (preferably not >1) cm particle size and firing at 450-950[deg]C with controlled excess oxygen supply to form anhydrite.
