The device is intended for the processing of organic waste materials for generating compost and/or biogas. It is composed of at least one container 1 with a stirring device arranged therein, the container 1 being cylindrical in shape and being arranged horizontally. In the middle zone of the container 1, there is provided a drivable horizontal shaft 5 with radially extending arms 8. Arranged on these arms 8 there are catch bars or contact bars 9 extending over the inner length of the container 1. The drivable shaft 5 is hollow, and the cavity of the shaft 5 is connected to the inside of the container 1. The arms 8, all of which are arranged in the plane of cross section of the container 1, which also accommodates the longitudinal axis 2 of the shaft 5, have attached to them a plurality of catch bars and/or contact bars 9 which are radially displaced relative to each other. Longitudinal ports 10, 11 for introducing or withdrawing the material to be processed are provided in the container wall above a horizontal plane which accommodates the longitudinal axis 2 of the shaft 5. <IMAGE> |
