Alkaline cleaning agents containing (a) at least one water-soluble salt of a hydroxyalkane-1,1-diphosphonic acid of formula <FORM:1057089/C4-C5/1> in which R signifies a straight or brached chain alkyl radical having 1-5 carbon atoms and (b) at least one water soluble salt of an aminopolyphosphonic acid of formula <FORM:1057089/C4-C5/2> in which X and Y signify a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical having 1-4 carbon atoms, R1 and R2 signify a -PO(OH)2 group or a group of formula <FORM:1057089/C4-C5/3> and R3 signifies a - PO(OH)2 group, with a proportion by weight of a hydroxyalkane-1,1-diphosphonic acid to aminopolyphosphonic acid from 3:1 to 1:3. Other ingredients include sodium or potassium hydroxide, alkali metal carbonates, alkali metal silicates, alkali metal phosphates and/or alkali metal borates. Wetting, anti-foaming, bleaching and/or disinfecting agents may additionally be included. |
