PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst converter having a structure capable of preventing suitably the thermal damage to a brazing section between a metal catalyst support and an external cylinder, even if in case of connecting an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine and the external cylinder by welding. SOLUTION: An external cylinder 12 is provided between an exhaust front pipe 4 and an exhaust pipe 6. The both edges of an outer peripheral face of the external cylinder 12 are pinched respectively to an inner peripheral face of the exhaust front pipe 4 and the exhaust pipe 6. An end section 4a of the exhaust pipe 4, an end section 6a of the exhaust pipe, and the external cylinder 12 are fixed by a welding A. A welded section between the exhaust pipe 6 and the external cylinder 12 is located parting a prescribed distance to the down stream side from the brazing section between a material catalyst support 11 and the external cylinder 12. |
