PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air curtain device wherein an air curtain is selectively formed at either a refrigerating chamber or a freezing chamber. SOLUTION: This refrigerator is operated such that cold air sucked through either a freezing chamber air curtain cold air suction port 15a or a refrigerator chamber air curtain cold air suction port 16a is forcedly blown to an air curtain cold air supplying passage 13a by a lateral flow fan, the cold air is discharged out of the air curtain cold air discharging port 14a or 14b selectively opened by a changing-over damper 19, thereby an air curtain is formed near the door 3 or 4. A leakage of cold air through openings of the freezer chamber 1 and the refrigerator chamber 2 is efficiently shut off. With such an arrangement as above, a temperature within the cooling chamber is kept uniform and a cooling efficiency is improved. |
