FRICTIONAL CLUTCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compose a clutch release device of a frictional clutch so as to require minimum operation for connection/disconnection of the clutch. SOLUTION: Motion or force introduced by a pressing mechanism 34 which connects a clutch release device 18 to a pressing plate 8 through a motion member 20 can be transmitted to a pressuring element 35 which can be functionally connected to the pressing plate 8. The pressuring element 35 is thus shifted from a first position where pressing force supplied by a diaphragm spring 16 is not transmitted to the pressing plate 8 through the pressuring element 35 to a second position where the pressing force of the diaphragm spring 16 is transmitted to the pressing plate 8 through the pressuring element 35.
