PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable image convolution operation through the use of a scanning line buffer by applying a limited convolution mask to plural scanning lines obtained by rendering the prescribed number of scanning lines of an image substantially equal to the prescribed number of raws or the prescribed number of columns of at least the limited convolution mask. SOLUTION: The plural scanning lines (band) 40 of an input image 41 are stored in a memory for forming one scanning line of an output image 43. In order to output the scanning line 'q' 42 of the image 43, 'q+n' is stored in the memory from a scanning line 'q-n'. In the processing of a band 40 using a convolution mask, the scanning line 'q-n' is abolished from the memory and a scanning line 'q+n+1' is read into the memory. A new band 44 consisting of 'q+n+1' is formed from a scanning line 'q-n+1'. The band 40 is provided with one scanning line before a noticing scanning line. In order to generate the scanning line 'q+1' 45 of the image 43, a new band 44 is processed. |
