PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a superconducting device to operate in a permanent current mode. SOLUTION: A superconducting coil 1 and a thermal switch 3 are arranged as thermally connected with each other on a low-temperature side cooling stage 4 of a refrigerator 6, and a permanent current switch 2 is arranged on the thermal switch 3 as thermally connected to each other. A current lead possessed of a high-temperature end connected to the high-temperature side cooling stage of the refrigerator 6 and a low-temperature end connected to the low- temperature side cooling stage 4 is arranged. When the permanent current switch 2 is turned OFF, the thermal switch 3 is so controlled as to be turned OFF, whereby a flow of heat from the permanent current switch 2 to the cooling stage 4 can be eliminated, and the cooling stage 4 is restrained from rising in temperature. |
