PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable navigation system that can obtain promptly correctly the newest and detail information required by a user, and individual information interchange can be done among specific users, without the necessity of employing a large-capacity storing unit such as CD-RM device in the system main body. SOLUTION: Positional information measured by a GPS device B or positional information inputted by an input device 4 is transmitted to a network base station 9 by use of a communication modem 7 via a telephone circuit 8. On the basis of the transmitted positional information, various kinds of information regarding a nearby map data and map are received in use of the communication modem 7 via the telephone circuit 8 to then be stored in a storing device 6A, thereby indicating the stored map data on a display device 5 along with the positional information or the like measured by the GBS device 3. |
