PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove all the paint film of a pattern section in one action with no residue left, improve production efficiency, prevent the adverse effect of cracks of the paint film, and improve the quality of an electrode plate by peeling the paint film of the portion impregnated and solidified with a cohesive material into a pattern shape together with a porous sheet stuck on the pattern section. SOLUTION: An electrode paint liquid containing an active material and a binder is applied and dried on a current collector 10 serving as a substrate to form a porous electrode paint film 2. The electrode paint film 2 is impregnated with a liquid cohesive material 3 having the cohesive force larger than that of the paint film 2 after solidification to form an impregnated paint film section 4 drawing a desired pattern. A porous sheet 5 is brought into contact with the impregnated paint film section 4, and a part of the cohesive material 3 in or on the impregnated paint section 4 is shifted into the porous sheet 5. The impregnated paint film section 4 is peeled together with the porous sheet 5, and the surface of the current collector 10 is exposed into a pattern shape to obtain an unpainted section 8.
