PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a motion effectively without increasing an arithmetic amount even from an image with a rapid motion. SOLUTION: A characteristic amount detection section 10 sets representative points to an object and detects a characteristic among with respect to a shape and a texture of the object for each representative point as characteristic among data DT1-DT5. A cost arithmetic section 30 obtains cost data DC representing a degree of the correspondence based on the characteristic amount data of a preceding frame and a current frame for each of combinations of the respective representative points. A corresponding point decision section 40 detects a combination of the corresponding points giving a minimum cost based on the cost data to decide corresponding points between the two frames. |
