摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a violent explosion when a battery of a fully charged condition is exposed to a high temperature without reducing ion conductivity of electrolyte by containing at least one of materials to respectively reduce or oxidize a positive electrode active material or a negative electrode active material of a charged condition at a temperature exceeding a specific value, in a battery. SOLUTION: Tin powder or the like of a reducing agent or iron chloride powder or the like of an oxidizing agent reacting by exceeding 60 deg.C of the upper limit of a general operating temperature of a battery, is preferably covered with low density polyethylene melting at a temperature exceeding 60 deg.C. These covering materials added in a pole plate start the action when the low density polyethylene melts at heating time of the battery. That is, a positive electrode active material or a negative electrode active material of a charged condition is reduced or oxidized, and electric potential advances in the base or noble direction, and discharge is performed, and energy reduces. These covering materials are insoluble in electrolyte. When the reducing agent or the oxidizing agent is a material which does not influence battery reaction and performs its action at high temperature time, covering is obviated.
