PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare antipruritic derived from Kochiae fructus (a dried fruit of Kochia scoparia (L.) Schrad) having excellent antihistaminic activities, and further antiallergic and antiinflammatory activities, hardly causing side effects by using an alcohol extract of the Kochiae fructus as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: The objective antipruritic derived from Kochiae fructus having excellent antihistaminic activities and hardly causing side effect is obtained by formulating at least one kind of momordin Ic and 2'-O-β-D- glucopyranosylmomordin Ic. The momordin Ic and the 2'-O-β-D- glucopyranosylmomordin Ic are obtained by pulverizing the Kochiae fructus, thermally extracting the pulverized Kochiae fructus with 70% moisture ethanol, filtering the extract under heating, condensing the filtrate under reduced pressure, freeze-drying the condensed filtrate to provide a dried 70% ethanol extract, thermally extracting the dried 70% ethanol extract with methanol, obtaining a methanol extract from the extract by the same way, adding water to the methanol extract, extracting the methanol extract containing the added water with ethyl acetate, further extracting the water layer with n-butanol, and fractionating the n-butanol extract by a silica gel column chromatography to provide the momordin Ic and the 2'-O-β-D-glucopyranosylmomordin Ic. |
