<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron head with which an averaged golfer or a beginner can easily play a good shot, and the carry and the directivity can be enhanced while the feeling of hitting is satisfactory. SOLUTION: The shape of a head is set so that a distance L from a heel side end 7 to a head toe end edge 3 of a scoring area 2 of a face 1 is gradually decreased from the upper side to the lower side, and in a range A from the lower end of the heat to a height of 2/5 of the overall height of the head the horizontal distance L becomes maximum. As viewed from the front surface, the head top part 4 is located substantially above the gravitational center G of the head. The end edge shape of the toe side front end point P where the horizontal distance L from the head top part 4 to the head toe end edge 3 becomes maximum, is smoothly arcuate having a curvature which is not abruptly changed.</p> |
