PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type display device having a lighting function with high contrast and high visibility even when a lighting device is turned on, and isn't turned on also. SOLUTION: The thin lighting device is arranged in front of a display panel 2, and a reflection plate 3 is arranged on the rear surface of the display panel 2. The lighting device is provided with a light transmitting plate 11 and a light source 12 arranged on the end surface side of the light transmitting plate 11, and rugged shapes formed by a light emission side plane, a surface parallel to this light emission side plane and the surface tilted at the range of 10 deg. or below for the surface perpendicular to this light emission side plane is provided on the display panel side surface of the light transmitting plate 11, and this tilt is made in the direction to which the width of the projection part of these rugged shapes becomes narrow toward its tip to be made easy for removing mold. |
