PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a variable color display element capable of varying a tint viewed from a display element view window compact and easily vary the tint. SOLUTION: In this element, a colored liquid 3 is filled up in a vessel 1 whose transparent window rear surface side of the transparent display element view window 2 is molded flatly, and a movable plate 4 making its surface 4a a colored surface or a reflection surface and having a permanent magnet 6 on its rear surface is inserted slidably into the vessel 1 through a spring 7 always pressurizing the movable plate 4 between the rear surface of this movable plate 4 and the inside surface so as to approach the transparent window rear surface side. Then, an electromagnet attracting/repulsing the permanent magnet 6 is provided on the rear surface side of the inside surface of this vessel 1. |
