PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound comprising a specific UCS1025 compound, having excellent antimicrobial and antitumor action and useful as an antimicrobial agent and an antitumor agent and a tautomer (salt) which is chemically equivalent thereto. SOLUTION: This new UCS1025 compound is represented by the formula (R is H or OH) or a tautomer which is chemically equivalent thereto or pharmacologically permissible salt thereof. The compound has excellent antimictobial and antitumor action and is useful as an antimicrobial agent, an antitumor agent, etc. The compound is obtained by culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Acremonium and having UCS1025 compound-producing ability [e.g. Acremonium sp. KPC7629-19 (FERM BP-5673)] or a microorganism belonging to the genus Humicola and having UCS1025 compound-producing ability [e.g. Humicola sp. KPC7781-6 (FERM BP-5674)] in a medium and collecting the product from the cultured product. |
